Buxton Contemporary is the main art museum at the University of Melbourne’s Southbank campus. It brings the work of leading Australian and International contemporary artists and artistic practice into conversation with teaching and research at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and Victorian College of Arts (FFAM).
In our academic engagements, we collaborate with the University’s faculties to offer transformative learning opportunities in a gallery setting, and alongside a dedicated contemporary art collection. Our collaborations foreground creative practice, interdisciplinary thinking and brings students into proximity to living artists, curators and museum professionals.
