Performance Curation
Inspired by Buxton Contemporary and the current exhibition, students from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music’s Performance Curation subject develop and deliver a public, roving concert performance across the galleries, regularly featuring world premieres of new compositions.
Students work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to consider, curate and perform an innovative live performance experience. Through the process, students expand their creative practices, expand their networks and collaborate with peers.
Led by Dr Joseph Lallo and Associate Professor Anna Cordingley, in collaboration with the Buxton Academic Engagement, Curatorial and Public Programs team.
Student Feedback
‘This subject challenged the way I view creative projects and the way I approach rehearsal schedules and situations. I found this subject artistically invigorating, and it gave me an opportunity to explore performance avenues and develop a skillset not usually available to undergraduate students.’
